Extra Income Report – June 2017.
My extra income report for June has a surprise or two: one source that doesn’t feature much, and another regular source that’s gone missing!

Rules for calculating extra income.
What goes in?
Cashback, interest, bonuses, competition wins, discounts earned through loyalty points, voucher codes or special activity, found money (substantial amounts), gifts, tax refunds that would otherwise be unclaimed, earnings from online or offline sales, as well as earnings from surveys, apps and freelance writing work.
What doesn’t go in?
Our salaries, regular sale refunds (as in buying something and then returning it), discounts on items in store or online that are available to all, general estimates of what we could have spent but didn’t – as in, reducing bills and calculating what the difference would be.
Here’s our income in detail:
No cashback!
For the first time since starting income reports, I haven’t received any cashback. In fact, I’ve been getting at least some cashback every month since April 2014, with the sole exception being November 2014… until now!
What happened?
I guess there will always be lulls where you simply don’t spend as much. Our groceries cashback has been quite slow as I simply haven’t found as many freebies to tempt me as before, although we just used CheckoutSmart for a free bottle of cider each a few days ago.
Interest
It seems like normal service was resumed with the amount of interest we earned last month. Since we stopped stoozing and paid off all the 0% interest credit cards, we get a lot less than we used to and I can’t say I’m used to it – sob. Still, it’s better than getting nothing for the money sitting in the bank.
Online Earnings
Pinecone Research surveys to the rescue again… I did three surveys at £3 each.
Coupons
My Asda price guarantee coupons got me £2.20 off our shopping, but we didn’t womble many receipts. Is it time to get a bit more cheeky? Erm… maybe, I don’t know. We’re shopping at Aldi more these days anyway, so the savings are still there, just not in the same way.
Sales
I did eBay! Ok, this is a non-event for most people but I gotta tell ya, I really can’t be bothered with selling things online. The more I’ve tried it for the sake of this blog, the more I’ve been put off.
I hate having to calculate the fees as well, as they’ve come along in July and it throws me a bit, but I’ve deducted the postage and the relevant fees from the amount received and came up with £11.39 profit for one of Little Balders’ suits.
You’d think that would encourage me to sell more!
Blog
Yep! My blog has brought in a modest amount this month, and I’m rather pleased. For simplicity, I’m going to group everything related to my blog and its social media channels together.

They’re definitely worth a go! I always redeem my earnings at £3 a time, a few days after completing a survey. No unnecessary waiting to reach a high threshold, so that’s fantastic 🙂
