Extra Income Report – July 2018

Extra Income Report: July 2018

Extra income report: July 2018.

July 2018 has been such an exciting month for projects – we have a new backyard forge under construction and I’m itching to make a kiln at the end of the garden! I’ve had a few weeks off of work and instead of thinking about making money, I’ve been having fun with my family, and it’s been wonderful.

Here’s a breakdown of our passive and side hustle income for July.

  • Cashback – £24.10
  • Coupons – £0.58
  • Interest – £8.70
  • Blog – £141.44

Total: £174.82

My rules for calculating our extra income.

What do we include?

Cashback, bank interest and incentives, dividends, bonuses, competition wins, discounts earned through loyalty points, voucher codes or special activity, found money (substantial amounts), gifts, tax refunds that would otherwise be unclaimed, earnings from online or offline sales, as well as earnings from surveys, apps and freelance writing work.

What doesn’t qualify?

Our salaries, regular sale refunds (such as buying something and then returning it), discounts on items in store or online that are available to all, general estimates of what we could have spent but didn’t – such as reducing a bill and calculating what the difference would have been.

 Here’s our income in detail:

Interest

£8.70 is another drop in interest this month, but that’s partly down to pulling away from TSB after their recurring IT woes. They’ve dangled a higher interest rate as a sweetener for those who stayed with them though, and I can see that August’s interest will be better just as a result of that.

Cashback

£23.28 of grocery app cashback was made up of £21.38 from CheckoutSmart and £1.90 from Green Jinn. We’re teetering on the edge of another CheckoutSmart payout soon, so hooray for when that does come through!

All of our TopCashback earnings have been building up in our “Reward Wallets” waiting to be cashed out as Zeek vouchers. It means waiting for longer to show earnings, but it’s worth it for a 15% increase, I think.

Blogs

My other blogs have started to contribute, which is great. Affiliate Window gave me £33.07 – this is a good boost as my last payment was in April. Sponsored posts added up to £108.37, and I have a feeling that taking sponsored posts on my other sites will have a positive effect, making me spend more time on my own posts there and building it up to the size of this blog.

That’s all for this month…

July gave us searing heatwaves as well as hailstones. Swings and roundabouts, eh? The same goes for my side hustle income but I don’t rely on it, so I can take it in my stride.

Over to you.
