Things seem to be going well with our grocery spending budget, after a long period of time when it looked as though we weren’t going to be able to bring it down. So has October been kind to our wallets, or was it all a blip?
How much we spent on food in October:
Food & drink: £236.07 before cashback.
I can’t believe it – we actually beat September’s spend of £269.15! It just goes to show that you can make progress when you put your mind to it. Early on we weren’t as motivated as we are now, and it shows.
How much we spent on everything else at the supermarket in October:
Household & miscellaneous: £18.34 – Lower than the previous month, which is fantastic.
Cat food & cat litter: £19.47 – It’s an increase of just under £3 which is still miles better than earlier this year.
Health items: £11.34.
Grocery & household goods cashback received: £21.50
My grocery cashback apps have provided a healthy rebate, but this time it was all from one source: the £21.50 came from Shopmium.
My Shopmium referral code is s9pi6x – download the app here*.
Total spend: £263.72
Our grocery spending – October 2019 results and goals
We managed to drop below September’s results – I’m so chuffed about that!
Goals for November:
My goal for October is to keep our overall spend under £280. We’ve already done one bulk shop, so is it possible?
My goal for October
Yay, we did it! It’s a great feeling to be able to hit a goal and know that it’s something that helps your family hit its longer-term goals.
My goal for November is to do the same thing again – but narrow it down a little and get our spend under £270. Can we do it?
